Roanoke-based firm collects 30,000 pounds of food

CBIZ Century Payroll Inc. in Roanoke held a food drive to support the Southwest Virginia Harvest Food Bank, collecting over 30,000 pounds of food. Here is more information from the company:

CBIZ Century Payroll, Inc. in Roanoke announces the tally of their month long food drive aimed at supporting the Southwest Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank. The total poundage of food donated is 31,469!

The 116 employees rallied together to make a significant contribution to their struggling community as many individuals still feel the repercussions from the recent recession. They hope their efforts will temper the widely reported shortage at food banks for at least a short while.

CBIZ Inc., is a publicly owned company with offices nationwide. This inaugural food drive brought in a grand total of over 400,000 pounds, which was disbursed to the participating offices’ local community food banks.
